 Soccer
The great thing about football is that it is universal! Africans love to watch football but most importantly they love to play it. Kenya, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sierra Leon, Senegal and Americans alike comprised of our extremely diverse 2007-2008 stellar team. The most diverse of all our Intramural teams, in fact, with both upper classmen and lower classmen playing side by side and so many different cultures represented in one team.
For IM Football, each half lasted 20 minutes for a total of 40 minutes per game. Each team has 11 players maximum on the field with unlimited substitutions and a coach.
The ASA Soccer team was on fire this past year. Team captain Yomi Olufowoshe led this all men's team to dominate over all other soccer teams, 3-0 (1 time game) in their regular season games, giving us a shot at the play-offs. ASA made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs, its best performance in 3 years. This team worked relentlessly to win each game and to improve each week. The score for our final game this past year was 2-1. Look forward to the 2008-2009 year to be one of the best! Congratulations goes out to the ASA soccer team for a great season!

 Co-Ed Track & Field
(Spring)
ASA Titans formed in 2008, is the first ever IM track team of the organization. ASA Titans are made up of athletic, diligent and hardworking members who represent ASA in a myriad of tracking events such as shot put, the long jump, 400 meter dash, 100 meter relay and more. In 2008, the ASA Titans too home 3rd place for our boys team and first place for our girls team at the annual UT IM track event. Congratulations ASA Titans on another award winning performance!

 Co-Ed Volleyball
Dig, set, volley, spike and dive! ASA assembled our very first volleyball team in the fall of 2007 for the Intramural Volleyball Competition. Our co-ed team was packed with a variety of players from beginners to advanced players. As coach I trained our team in all technical aspects of volleyball including serving, digging, setting and general rules of co-ed volleyball. Training was held on Saturday or Sunday's once a week and I even had individual training every time I worked out.
Recap of Games:
We had fun at practice and at games. Games were held on Wednesday's at 9pm at the Gregory Gym. Punctuality at games was very important because the referees started on the hour. Co-ed requires a minimum of 2 and 4 girls. We did not win our first, second or third games. However, we had more spirit and more fans in the stands! Our teams goal was have fun as a family and meet new organizations. We achieved perfect grades of sportsmanship from our opponents.
Future Goal:
So next year is the year we get to the playoffs. With more practice and a better understanding of the rules we will succeed!
